How We Work

The Wetlands Project

Although The Wetlands Project is a non-profit corporation, we recognize that the operational principles of a for-profit world are critical to our success.  Goals for each project are clearly stated and are:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Realistic
  • Timely

Our operations are lean and efficient, allowing maximum flexibility and innovation. Upon completion, each project is evaluated with our partners to ensure that “lessons learned” are applied in the future and we continue to refine our strategy. This information is included with the project information, as it becomes available.

In addition to establishing a loyal donor base, The Wetlands Project depends on individuals and organizations to:

  • Spread the wetlands conservation message through social media and other outlets to energize project interest and donations
  • Encourage project recommendations from other geographic locations
  • Provide financial support to projects that benefit other communities, as well as their own.

Meeting the financial obligations of a non-profit can be challenging. These responsibilities include technology and software development, travel and other categories frequently referred to as “overhead”. We encourage our donors to consider increasing financial support of our programs with an additional donation for operational expenses of The Wetlands Project.

The success of our projects and programs depends on the generous gifts of our wonderful donors. Thank you!
